Indus International Community School Bangalore

Fulfilling the Right to Education

Teacher

The teachers at IICS are drawn from the same communities as the students. This not only helps in the development of the community, but enables them to understand and mentor students at home, provide after-school support, and conduct adult literacy programmes in their respective villages.

Teachers are a mix of graduates, post-graduates and Senior School Certificate holders school (passed 12th grade). Potential teachers undergo a rigorous 9-month training programme at the Indus Training and Research Institute.

While the teachers for the primary classes will be "integrated teachers" who will teach all subjects, the senior class teachers will be master teachers. Master teachers will be subject experts responsible for overall guidance, capacity building and development of curriculum.
